Kobe undergoes minor knee surgery - Kobe Bryant recently underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. This was the third time he's had the knee scoped, and this one was kept pretty quiet by the Lakers and Kobe, who is becoming more popular with his silence, letting other stars alienate fans with their words and 'decisons.' Bryant is rehabbing and is expected to be fully recovered prior to the start of the training camp on September 25.
Kahn fined $50,000 for comments about Beasley - David Kahn and the Timberwolves have each been fined $50,000 for comments Kahn made Thursday regarding Michael Beasley smoking marijuana in the past.
Rasual Butler will stay with Clippers - Rasual Butler will re-sign with the Clippers for the 2010-11 season. The retention of Butler solidifies the Clippers' depth chart.

Barnes officially signs with Lakers - Matt Barnes officially signed a two-year, $3.6 million contract with the Lakers Friday. Barnes is still reeling after his two-year, $9 million deal with the Raptors fell through last week, but he's now focusing on trying to win a ring in L.A.

Angels acquire Haren in deal for Saunders - The Diamondbacks have traded RHP Dan Haren to the Angels for LHP Joe Saunders, LHP Patrick Corbin, RHP Rafael Rodriguez and a player to be named. - This is a steal for the Angels, who effectively answered Texas' acquisition of Cliff Lee at a very reasonable price.
Rangers push West lead back to seven - Pitcher Tommy Hunter remained undefeated as the Rangers won for the third time in four games against the Angels with a 6-4 victory at the Ballpark in Arlington on Sunday night.
Catcher Treanor predicts speedy recovery - Rangers catcher Matt Treanor, who went on the disabled list Saturday with a strained right PCL, doesn't think he'll be sidelined very long despite how the injury may look. - Treanor was walking around with a heavy brace on Sunday. But he still doesn't think he'll be sidelined much longer than 15 days.
Rodriguez shuts out Reds 4-0 - Wandy Rodriguez is dominant versus the Reds, holding them to just one hit and fanning seven over seven shutout innings. the Astros came through in the seventh, scoring three times to assure Rodriguez a 4-0 win Sunday.

Bryant refuses to carry Williams' should pads - Roy Williams asked Dez Bryant to do it Sunday without success. - ”I just feel like I'm here to play football," Bryant said. "I'm here to try to help win a championship, not carry someone's pads. I'm saying that out of no disrespect."
Kindle hospitalized in Austin - Former Longhorn's linebacker Sergio Kindle is hospitalized after falling down two flight of stairs. He will not be attending the Rookie camp with the Baltimore Ravins which starts Monday.

Nothing official but he said he there are as many fans, if not more, in San Antonio as there are in Dallas. It serves the Cowboys logistically to come to San Antonio.

Longhorns to open two football practices - Two open football practices have been scheduled by Texas. The practices will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 11 and 12 at Royal-Memorial Stadium.
SMU's Beachum lone Mustang named to all-Conference USA team - Kelvin Beachum, a junior left tackle from Mexia known as "Beach" by his teammates, was the only SMU player named to the C-USA coaches' preseason all-conference team.
Shuttle service added for TCU-Oregon State game at Cowboys Stadium - Shuttles from downtown Fort Worth to Cowboys Stadium in Arlington proved successful enough – about 4,000 passengers for nine games – that the offerings will be expanded this year to include college football games. The Fort Worth Transportation Authority, better known as the T, started running the round trips to Cowboys games last year for $5 but doubled the price this season.
North Texas football coach Leftwich leaves for Tulsa - Spencer Leftwich, UNT’s offensive line coach and one of the original members of Todd Dodge’s coaching staff, has resigned to take a similar position at Tulsa. He will replace Herb Hand, who left Tulsa for Vanderbilt.
