Yao may quit basketball if foot doesn't heal - Houston Rockets center Yao Ming told Chinese state media he will consider retiring from basketball if his foot injury doesn't heal.  Yao, 29, missed all of last season after undergoing foot surgery.

Bulls not interested in McGrady - The Chicago Bulls are reportedly passing on free agent Tracy McGrady.  The Bulls are not convinced that McGrady is willing to accept a secondary role with them or any other team. McGrady spent the tail end last season with the New York Knicks after coming over in a trade with the Houston Rockets.

Heat re-sign F Randolph to deal - The Miami Heat re-signed free-agent forward Shavlik Randolph to a contract, the team announced on Tuesday.  Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Timberwolves' Flynn out 3-4 months - The Minnesota Timberwolves will reportedly be without Jonny Flynn for up to four months as the point guard prepares to undergo hip surgery. - Flynn, who started 81 games as a rookie last season, likely wouldn't be ready for the start of the season if he underwent hip surgery. Minnesota has an insurance option at point guard, having signed Luke Ridnour to a four-year deal last week.

Cavs complete four-player trade with T'wolves - The Cleveland Cavaliers acquired Ramon Sessions and Ryan Hollins from the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Sebastian Telfair and Delonte West on Monday, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

T'wolves may trade Sessions to Cavs - The Minnesota Timberwolves are talking to the Cleveland Cavaliers about the possibility of trading point guard Ramon Sessions to the Cavs, according to a report in the Cleveland Plain Dealer.


Astros C Towles undergoes surgery, out six weeks - Houston Astros catcher J.R. Towles underwent thumb surgery on Monday.

Rangers RHP Harden strikes out 10 in rehab start - Texas Rangers righthanded pitcher Rich Harden struck out 10 batters in six innings in his fourth rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday night.

Mets manager Manuel suspended one game - New York Mets manager Jerry Manuel was suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount of money following his third ejection of the season. - Manuel will serve the suspension on Tuesday and miss his team's game against the St. Louis Cardinals.


Bryant says he didn't know about rookie tradition - Dallas Cowboys' first-round draft pick Dez Bryant said he didn't know about the rookie tradition of carrying veterans' pads to practice when he refused to do so for teammate Roy Williams.

Bengals talking to Terrell Owens - The Cincinnati Bengals are talking to free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens, who also has interest from the St. Louis Rams.  Bengals owner Mike Brown wrote on the team's Twitter page that joining the team for the 2010 season "is up to him." The Rams reportedly are meeting Monday to decide whether or not to pursue Owens, the top remained unsigned wideout.

NFL clears Vick in party shooting - Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has been cleared by the NFL in its investigation of a shooting at his birthday party last month.
